Andrew Hrouda from ACDI (Fredrick MD) & Daniel Perry from Koh Young – Featuring Koh Young 8030-3 SPI.

AtlantechUSA has over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry. Can you share the journey of how the company was founded and what has contributed to its long-standing success?
Atlantech began in 1990 as a manufacturer’s representative serving the PC fabrication (PC Fab) industry. I drew on my 10–13 years of experience as a CPM, manufacturing supervisor, and direct sales professional to build strong relationships in the field. In 2002, we decided to expand further into the assembly industry by partnering with Ersa as our first principal. Our success has always stemmed from open communication, mutual respect with our clients and partners, and a commitment to collaboratively solving the challenges of the electronics market.

As a company with deep roots in the electronics sector, how has AtlantechUSA adapted to industry changes over the years, particularly with the rapid advancement of technology?
We adapt by listening closely to our customers and working hand in hand with our principals to develop and deliver the right solutions. By maintaining open dialogue with customers, we’ve been able to refine our offerings and proactively address their evolving needs. Collaborating with leading technology innovators has also helped us remain nimble in a rapidly advancing industry, enabling us to share cutting-edge developments and insights with our clients.

What do you believe sets AtlantechUSA apart in the competitive landscape of the electronics industry?
Our collaborative approach, which starts with truly understanding our customers’ goals, is what sets us apart. We believe in actively partnering with our clients to identify issues and co-create solutions, rather than simply providing off-the-shelf products. This commitment to customer-driven innovation and hands-on support forms the foundation of our reputation as a trusted ally in the electronics industry.

Your new website reflects AtlantechUSA’s dedication to innovation and customer engagement. What was the inspiration behind the redesign, and how do you envision it enhancing your customer experience?
The redesign is part of our ongoing transformation—what I like to call our “phoenix rising” approach. Just as the phoenix is reborn, we regularly reinvent ourselves to keep pace with changing technologies and customer expectations. The new website will make it simpler for visitors to explore the solutions we offer, learn about industry trends, and connect directly with our team. We see it as a digital platform for collaboration, where customers can find resources, ask questions, and work alongside us to address their manufacturing challenges.

With a legacy spanning three decades, what are some of the proudest achievements for AtlantechUSA, and how have they shaped your outlook for the future?
A key point of pride is our ability to secure partnerships with industry leaders such as Panasonic, Koh Young, and Ersa, companies that share our commitment to innovation and collaboration. Panasonic revolutionized module SMT manufacturing, Koh Young is a pioneer in real-time 3D inspection, and Ersa essentially invented selective soldering. These alliances underscore our dedication to teaming up with organizations that bring best-in-class products and expertise, which in turn inspires us to continuously improve and share that knowledge with our customers.

Expansion is a key focus for many businesses. Can you tell us about AtlantechUSA’s recent or upcoming efforts to grow its reach, either in terms of products, markets, or partnerships?
We’re always seeking opportunities to broaden our market reach and enhance our product portfolio. One strategy involves collaborating with forward-thinking principals who enable us to offer cutting-edge technologies in automation, robotics, and AI. We also prioritize establishing strong relationships with new customers and strategic partners. Our aim is to foster a network of mutual support, where knowledge and innovation flow freely among all our stakeholders, driving collective success.

The electronics industry continues to evolve. What are your thoughts on the future of this industry, and how is AtlantechUSA positioning itself to remain at the forefront?
The industry is quickly embracing automation, robotics, and AI to meet growing demands for speed, precision, and flexibility. At Atlantech, we stay at the leading edge by partnering with technology developers who emphasize collaboration and knowledge-sharing. This ensures that our customers have the resources and guidance they need to implement new solutions effectively. By working together, we can help shape the industry’s future, rather than simply reacting to it.

For a company like AtlantechUSA with a wealth of experience, what are some of the challenges you’ve faced in maintaining growth and innovation, and how have you overcome them?
External market forces—such as elections, inflation, and a shortage of skilled labor—have presented obstacles for our clients and, by extension, for us. We’ve overcome these challenges by collaborating with our customers to identify creative solutions, pooling our expertise to address issues such as workforce training and process optimization. This shared problem-solving philosophy helps us maintain momentum and continue innovating, even when market conditions are uncertain.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for AtlantechUSA in the next five to ten years? Are there any exciting projects or initiatives in the pipeline you can share with us?
Automation, robotics, and AI are rapidly shaping the future, and we intend to be at the forefront of those technologies. Our plan is to deepen our collaborations with experts in these areas to develop and offer integrated solutions that help our customers stay ahead of industry changes. We also foresee expanding our educational outreach—providing training and thought leadership, so that our partners can implement these technologies successfully. By working as a team with our customers and suppliers, we’re confident in charting a future marked by adaptability, innovation, and sustained growth.
